Perfect Pair of Sunglasses: Spring/Summer 2015

By Elma B.

I have been on a search for a fabulous pair of black sunglasses that could easily be match with anything, whether with my white t-shirt and black tights on my way to the gym or with a long floral dress on my way to a meeting. And I believe I found a pair...

Before I reveal to you the details about my new sunnies, I must give you a few styling tips. First, find out your face shape (oval, square, heart, etc.) to see what sunglasses look the best on you. Secondly, make sure to pick out the ones that are the most comfortable for you (I purchased a pair of sunglasses that kept gliding off my nose and another pair that gave me a headache because the temples were too tight!).

With all of these style tips in mind, I opted for a classic-chic pair of cat-eye sunglasses from Koali Eyewear. I am a fan of the white catty tips on the frames and the change of color on the lenses. These sunnies are easy to wear on my everyday outings as well as for those occasional summer sunset soirees. Until next time, stay fresh, fabulous and chic fashionistas! Xoxo from New York City!

How to Look Glamorously Chic: Summer Edition

By Elma Beganovich

After attending many evening rooftop parties around New York City, I wanted to share with you some styling tips on how to glam-up for those unforgettable summer soirees. After watching many My style inspiration are the '60s and '70s ever-glamorous Bond girls like Honey Rider, Domino, and Solitaire. Without further ado, here are some tips on

How to Look Glamorously Chic: Summer Edition

Firstly, I would suggest letting your locks loose and humidity plump-up your hair (as was seen on Ursula Andress in Dr. No). If you do not live in a humid climate, try using surf spray by Bumble and Bumble. Hairstyle tip: use it only on your roots so your ends do not get dry.

Secondly, always opt for something sheer or semi-sheer. A sheer piece or a partly sheer piece gives a romantic look to whatever you are wearing. Word of caution: careful not to expose too much, leave a lot to the imagination.

Thirdly, pumps, pumps and pumps. Pick out a black-sleek pair of stilettos and rock 'em all summer long. They are easy to pair with almost anything and are flattering on almost any leg. Below, I picked-out mine from Zara.

Lastly, add a vintage flare to your outfit. I am a huge fan of frequenting consignment boutiques and digging out gems that I know no one else owns. Below, I dug out a vintage Salvatore Ferragamo metallic bag in a shape of a bow.

There you have it fashionistas, some summer tips on how to look glamorously chic and glow at any summer soiree. What is your favorite summer look? Leave me a comment, love hearing from you, xoxo from New York! (Outfit details: sheer shirt  and black pumps from Zara, skirt from H&M, and bag by Salvatore Ferragamo.)

Get the Look: Boho in SoHo

By Elma Beganovich

During the warm spring and hot summer days, I am a fan of casual and comfortable clothing that give me room to breathe yet are beautiful and chic. A style that encapsulates all of these qualities is definitely boho-chic, and where better to show off the look than in the New York's artsy district of SoHo.

To complete the look, I discovered this beautiful deep v-neck white top with a long ombre fringe in this fun and fresh online boutique called Pleated Empire. I thought the figure flattering fringe top deserved a lot of attention since it is easy to dress-up for those summer soirees or your casual everyday strolls around the city. All of the photos were taken in SoHo, and I managed to capture some of the cast-iron buildings and the busy vibes of New York City (take a look below).

Outfit details: I am wearing---fringe top from Pleated Empire, a vintage skirt from Max Studio, sandals from Zara, vintage necklace, and Chanel boy bag. Until next time fashionistas, stay fresh and fabulous, signing off from the Big Apple, xoxo!

Striped Maxi Dress

By Amra B.

Summer is almost here, and I have been eagerly awaiting to finally wear long-flowing dresses. A maxi dress is one of my favorite pieces for warm summer days; it is comfortable to wear, easy to combine with other pieces in my wardrobe, and looks simply beautiful on sun kissed skin. Although I am still waiting to catch some rays, I am already on the lookout for things to take with me on this year’s vacation; versatile pieces that can be worn day and night are definitely on the top of my list.

I combined my new maxi dress with a high wedge heel and a denim jacket. I added a high-waisted belt and a pair of oversized sunglasses. Although, I love to combine a maxi dress with high heels, it is equally flattering when worn with flat sandals. For a day look while on vacation, I wear a maxi dress over a bathing suit and add a large straw hat; I love to take the same dress from day to night by adding bold jewelry, bright lipstick, and sky-high platforms.

Outfit: Pleated Empire maxi dress, belt Burberry, jacket Tommy Hilfiger, shoes Balenciaga, bag Céline, and sunglasses Stella McCartney.

How to Style Timeless Fashion Pieces

By Elma Beganovich

Apologies for being MIA and the lack of blog posts recently, I have been overwhelmed with a social blogging platform we are building (stay tuned to find out more!). With that said, after several requests, in this blog post I wanted to give you some styling tips on how to style timeless fashion pieces. I would say that timeless fashion pieces are the most important to own in any fashioinsta's closet because you can get so much milage out of every single one of the items. Without further ado...

How to Style Timeless Fashion Pieces

Firstly, some of any fashionista's closet essentials would be a great quality trench coat. I suggest looking into Burberry, if you can afford it. Otherwise, try United Colors of Benetton or Gap, like I mentioned in my earlier posts, to pick out a quality item: make sure that the thread count is high and that the material is natural and not man-made. Another closet essential is the little black dress; find one that best fits your body size and run with it. (I purchased this sheer one from H&M.)

Secondly, always have on hand some statement accessories, including shoes. These statement accessories is what will take your outfit from boring and plain to chic. For instance, I paired my multi-colored Jimmy Choo stilettos with a yellow Louis Vuitton tote. You do not need to go overboard with the accessories, just stick with a few to give your outfit that spark.

Thirdly, pick out a great pair of sunglasses that you can wear over and over again and always look chic. I snagged these pair of large cat-eye sunglasses from Stella McCartney. Remember, a huge style tip: pick out sunglasses that flatter your face-shape, here is your full guide on how to determine what frames look the best on your face.

There you have it fashionistas, some of my own styling tips on how to look chic in timeless fashion pieces. What are some of your favorite classic fashion items? Leave me a comment, love hearing from you! Until next time, xoxo from the Big Apple! (Outfit details: trench from United Colors of Benetton; shoes by Jimmy Choo; little black dress from H&M; sunglasses by Stella McCartney; and yellow tote by Louis Vuitton.)

Comfy and Chic Shirts

By Amra B.

My main go-to style for this spring has been a cotton shirt and a pair of skinny jeans. It is so nice to finally be able to shed layers of clothes, and take a casual stroll around the city wearing only my favorite denim and a sweatshirt. I have also developed an affinity towards fun t-shirt designs that can be paired up with a skirt just as easily as a pair of jeans.

My new “Yes way Rosé” sweatshirt perfectly captures my current mood; I am planning a trip to the south of France this summer, and this pale pink shirt has served as somewhat a source of inspiration. It is super easy to combine with other pieces in my wardrobe, and I particularly love how well it looks when worn with denim or white pants.

I styled my otherwise casual look with a pair of high heels and statement boho necklace; I am a big believer in mixing casual pieces with dressier items for an effortless chic look. I wore my hair up in a loose bun and topped off the look with a pair of oversized sunglasses.

Outfit: Lilli & Tori sweatshirt and necklace; H&M jeans; Jimmy Choo heels; Céline purse; Stella McCartney sunglasses; and Intermix bracelet.

Royal Blue Skirt

By Amra B.

I know this post is a little overdue, but I have been waiting to find one of those amazing pieces worth blogging about. Finally, after some searching, I was able to locate a skirt that simply took my breath away; it is one of those garments that one cannot wear often, but once the opportunity presents itself, it is guaranteed to make you feel like a princess.

The spring weather in New York City was quite chilly, and this skirt was the perfect answer to the low evening temperatures. I kept the look more casual by pairing it up with a t-shirt and gladiator sandals; however, this skirt looks equally beautiful with a silk black or white tank. I added a touch of nude with my new purse and a pair of eco friendly sunglasses; recently, beige has become my favorite color for spring and summer.

Outfit: Alice and Olivia skirt, Zara t-shirt, Balenciaga sandals, Céline purse, Stella McCartney sunglasses, Intermix and H&M bracelets
